Whatever the Future Brings...

3.1 is very likely to include a new 10 and 25man raid-instance called Ulduar. This is one of the 5 known bases of the titans. the other four being Uldum, Uldaman, Maraudon, and a storage facility below Bael Modan. Ulduar is a mysterious subterrean realm of ice and stone, conrolled by storm giants and crystal golems. It is the storm giant's stronghold, but they did not build it. It is originally a titan city, and the design matches the design of the two temples in Northrend, and other similar ruins, that the dwarves have found thus far. Earlier Ulduar was beleaved to be nearly concealed within the mountainscape, but this has been proven untrue. Massive buildings protrude from the mountains, many hundred times taller than a human. Inside, Ulduar is a profusion of tunnels, stairs and balconies. The place would appear to be carved out of a cave, and many of the levels are natural ledges. This is most likely ment to give a feeling, that the place was more like improved, rather than remade. This architecture kind of shows where the dwarves got their skill in stoneworks from, though they are still a long way from matching their ancestors' creations. The giants who live here are so few in numbers, that one wandering the halls of Ulduar, is likely to never meet another, - which is probably the best anyway, because nobody are meant to ever gain entrance to the place. The giants are a dying race, desperately avoiding their fate. They seem to think, that another race will vanquish them some day, and hide here, rather than girding for battle. They are too frightened to acctually battle the scourge, but they do seem to hate it.
Ulduar is like a treasure trove of information on the titans and their activites.
Dual specs are also very likely to be implemented in this patch. I'll research more on these so-called dual specs, in the comming days.
Update on dual specs: This feature will allow players to save 2 (maybe more, nothing certain yet) specs to their character, enabling them to switch from, say, Holy as a priest or pally to either shadow or protection, for example. or Prot --> Retri, if those two are pre-saved. This would be need for.. say, farming & raiding.

3.1.1 Chances are 3.1.1 will be a quick bug fix patch, to fix Ulduar, primarily.

3.1.2 Probably some more bug fixes and fine tuning of the new raids.

3.2 Confirmed to contain an unreleased and unknown raid instance.

3.3 Confirmed to contain the Icecrown Citadel and finish the story of the legendary sword, the Ashbringer.

3.4 There were a whopping 12 major content patches before Burning Crusade was released. However, since then there have been only 4 major patches. Blizzard seems to be taking an approach where they release a smaller number of large patches. I doubt we'll see more than 4 major patches in Wrath of the Lich King, due to this change.

4.X.X This will be the patch branch for the expansion after Wrath of the Lich King. Many fans, including me, are expecting something like The Emerald Dream, or The Maelstrom included in this expansive, are maybe other planets, like Argus, K'aresh or Xoroth
